Why am I getting a 404 Error?

A 404 error on the website means the page cannot be found.

A 404 error means the page could not be found. The most common reasons are:

  • The url is typed incorrectly
  • The page you were trying to view has been moved or deleted
  • You do not have permission to view the page

404 when viewing a MyList link

When viewing a MyList, the same causes listed above apply. If the list has been deleted, the link will always return a 404 error. 

There are also two cases where you will get a 404 error even if nothing is technically wrong:

  • You are signed into a different account than the one that created the list.
  • You are using a student code that is not associated with the correct teacher account.
In both cases, the list's Visibility setting is set to Private. To resolve the error, the list owner should change the Visibility setting to Shareable. To do this, open the list, go to its settings, and change Visibility from Private to Shareable.
